No 2: Getting the most out of advertising

Creating and managing adverts in Community Site in a Box (CSIAB) is easy and can be a great way to gain income to sustain your community website.

CSIAB also allows you to provide statistics to your advertisers, including the number of views and clicks through to their website/more enhanced listing within the directory.

You can create as many adverts as required and rotate them to appear on different pages within your community site - allowing you more control over how often and in what context the adverts appear. For example the local Chamber of Commerce may have details of their meetings on their website/more enhanced listing in the directory - to promote this they may wish to have an advert appear on the home page a week prior to the next meeting in order to encourage wider participation.

Whether it's advertising community events and meetings or promoting the local economy, the community website provides a great avenue for both businesses and community organisations to promote their activity to the local and wider population.

For step by step instructions on creating and editing adverts see Chapter 5 in the CSIAB Instruction Manual.
