Margaret River WA

auCD was pleased to invite Margaret River and surrounding localities to a free information workshop on developing a community website using a Community Geographic Domain Name (CGDN). This session took place at the Margaret River Community Resources Centre on the 16th June, 2008.

The session helped the attendees to understand the requirements of a CGDN application as well as provide information on auCD's support services that are provided to communities at no cost. Other communities experiences were also discussed as were particular questions relevant to the Margaret River Community.

auCD would like to thank Russell Simpson and John Galvin from the Augusta Telecentre, which manages the Augusta community website at www.augusta.wa.au, for coming along to share their experiences. Russell described how the website has experienced high visitor numbers and how the whole community are encouraged to contribute material in order to keep the site relevant and up to date.
