Nambour (QLD)

auCD was pleased to invite Nambour and surrounding localities to a free information seminar on developing a community website using a Community Geographic Domain Name (CGDN).

Nambour Community Centre was the venue at 3pm on 1st October 2008.

With the Support of Sunshine Coast Regional Council - we were able to invite many community groups along to our seminar.  Nambour, Gheerulla, Pringle Hill, Bli Bli and Cooloola were some of the localities represented.

The attendees benefited from hearing first hand how the CGDN initiative has developed since the names were released.

The workshop acted as a forum for those to indicate their potential support of the project, with many of the attendees registering their interest in order to be kept informed of developments in their locality.

We were lucky enough to have two community websites represented at this event - it was wonderful to hear first hand from Communities already using a Community Geographic Domain Name - both presenting their community websites to an enthustiastic group!
