auCD workshops prove to be a great way to facilitate a collaborative community website

20/Apr/2008

After 8 months and 15 localities auCD workshops prove to be doing the trick in getting communities using their Community Geographic Domain Name!

auCD has held 15 workshops on developing community websites using Community Geographic Domain Names (CGDNs) since September last year!  These workshops have enabled the hosting locality as well as surrounding communities to come and learn about the national initiative that has reserved every locality its unique geographic website address to promote communication and sustainability at a local level.

Feedback has strongly indicated that these sessions help interested communities to better understand how developing their CGDN can benefit their locality.  These sessions have also worked as a fantastic networking opportunity for the community, encouraging different groups to come to together to help develop their community home on the net.

If you think your community would benefit from one of these free sessions please contact us and we will look into scheduling one near you!  Workshops are already being scheduled in WA for June

During May members of the public in Victoria can also attend a VICNAMES roadshow event where auCD will be presenting alongside John Tulloch, the Victorian Registrar of Geographic Names.
