Avoca - hope to attract new businesses to their district via new community website

The official launch of the Avoca Community Website was held at the Avoca Fine Wine, Arts and Craft Market yesterday.

Avoca website launchA large crowd of interested local residents and visitiors gathered around the large pink 'web' site to hear Avoca Business & Tourism representative, Hayden Pilgrim explain the concept of a community website and how it will benefit businesses and community groups in Avoca.

Website co-ordinator Marg Pilgrim said "www.avoca.vic.au  aims to share Avoca's treasures by keeping people in touch with people."

Marg added "We also hope the new site will help to attract new businesses to the district, increasing employment opportunities and our economic sustainability, while also further developing our town's infrastructure (eg water, natural gas, streetscape, communications)."

They also thanked Wayne Hines and his team from Virtual Bean for their assistance with the site construction and launch, as well as the Pyrenees Advocate and the Bagman for their support of this new and exciting communication tool.
